Review: Rainbow's End

For this review, I read Rainbow's End by J.B. Bonds, which was my first book I read by this author.  It is their debut book from what I read.  Also J.B. Bonds is a pen name for 2 sisters, who write together and they are Jane McCoy and Brenda Powell.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description of the book- Goodreads Description:
Joanie and Roz, widowed septuagenarian sisters, moved to Florida to live together for support and companionship.
Soon they were involved with a cross dresser, a kleptomaniac, amorous affairs, and a situation that put them in peril.
All of this adds up to a book filled with escapades and events that will tickle your funny bone, but most importantly, will prove you don’t retire to die, but to live.

My husband job before the one he has now was at a retirement village.  There was many kinds of houses- regular houses, Townhouses, retirement village (it was it's name), and a nursing home.  Shawn told me stories about the residents.  When I started reading this book, those stories were in the back of my mind.  This book reminded me of a soap opera of many things happening at the same time, but I feel like there was a lot going on.

There was this mystery about something, which I am not going to say what because yes, you need to read the book.  I love the mystery.  It added something to this book, which I loved.  I was all into the who? what? when? where?  Wow, there was so interesting characters, too, but my absolute favorite is .......Burton!!  OMG, loved this character a lot, but yes, you know what I am going to say, read the book!!  I can not tell you why I love this character because if I do, then it will ruin it for you and I do not want to disappoint you.

☆☆☆☆
give this book 4 out of 5 stars because of all that was going on.  When I do these reviews, I take notes and it was a lot I was writing down.
Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes!

Review: Chasing the Other Tisdale

For this Review, I chose Chasing the Other Tisdale by Jessica Jefferson, which is my first book I read by this author.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Goodreads Description:
She’s the other sister . . .

Overshadowed by the beauty of her older sister, Lillian is better known as the other Tisdale; unremarkable and unsure how she will ever deliver on the promise of her family's name.

He’s a rake in need of reforming . . .

Will Colton leads a frivolous existence, embracing notoriety instead of managing his family’s fortune. Determined to forget his financial burden and his father’s growing resentment, he maintains a lifestyle dedicated to pleasure and self-indulgence.

When Will is invited to the Tisdale estate for an extended holiday, he never expects to become friends with the forgettable Lillian. But when a family secret comes to light, he must choose between leaving London and protecting the honor of one woman or staying and risking the reputation of another.

Upon his return, Will finds the girl he left behind has come out of the shadows and into her own. Lillian’s finally the center of attention, and not all of it good. With his own reputation in tatters, can a reformed rake lure her out of the hands of London's bachelors and back into his own arms? Can he escape his past and reclaim her heart, or has he lost her forever?

It took me awhile to get into this book because I am not used to the period of time that this book is written in, but once I read more and more, I fell in love with the characters of Miss Lillian and Mr Colton.

My favorite part of the book is the letters that Miss Lillian and Mr Colton wrote to one another.  I think this book was about following your dreams and not setting for second best.  Miss Lillian wanted to be wanted, to be loved.  She was tired of being referred as "The Other Tisdale" when she has a name, feelings, and her own personality.

☆☆☆☆☆
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.  I love this book more than I thought I would.  I can not wait to read Book #1 (Compromising Miss Tisdale) and Book #2 (Taming Miss Tisdale).

Review: Hart to Hart

For this review, I read Hart to Hart by Vella Day, which is my first book from this author.  This book is book #4 in the Montana Promises series.  It is also a stand alone book so if you haven't read books #1-3 like me you should be fine. I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description of Hart to Hart:
Goodreads Description:
Who says you can never go back?

Former FBI Agent Vic Hart has made a lot of bad decisions in his life. His biggest regret was divorcing his wife. So when Ellie shows up at his private investigator’s office after flying halfway across the country to ask for his help, he’s both shocked and delighted.

For five years, Ellie Hart struggled to create a new life for herself. It wasn’t easy to mend her broken heart, but she’s finally found the contentment she’s been searching for. Her new-found happiness is fleeting, however, when her life is threatened, and she’s forced to turn to the one man she never wanted to see again.

Ellie’s back in Vic’s life and he’ll do anything and everything to keep her there. He has passion and desire on his side—it burns even hotter this second time around.

But danger still follows, and the tension escalates. If Vic wants a future with Ellie, he’s going to have to find a way to keep his family safe and stay alive at the same time.

I love the mystery behind why Ellie went to her ex-husband, Vic, for help. Who is threatening Ellie and why? Is it because of something that Ellie did? Or could it have something to do with her ex-husband being a FBI agent! Is someone from his past threatening Ellie?  This book was more than just a romance book, but also a mystery of who did it!

☆☆☆☆☆
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because I fell in love with the characters of Ellie, Vic, and Charlotte. I can not wait to be able to read books #1-3. This book is a stand alone book and I didn't have any issues reading book #4 before the first 3.

Review: Stealing His Heart

For this review, I read Stealing His Heart by Ella Jade, which is my first book from this author.   I love the cover .  The red lipstick stands out and the glove/ball teases you a bit for what is to come.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

This book is the first in the Kingston Heat series.  Book #2 is called Sliding into Second, which I can't wait to read.

Here is a brief description of the book:
Goodreads Description
Will the bad-boy pitcher strike out when it comes to love?

Shy music teacher Sophia Ballis has sworn off men. After a bad experience with a college jock she decided it was better to be alone than to get burned again. She focused on her education and now her new job at a local private school.

Professional baseball pitcher Paxton Hughes is a player both on and off the field. He's signed to the Kingston Crushers to bring home the coveted championship title. Nothing can get in his way. Serious relationships don't mix with a life on the road and he never loses focus on the game. One-night stands are his specialty for a reason.

While out jogging one spring morning, the two collide, setting their course in motion. Pax is immediately drawn to the unassuming beauty. Sophia is aware of his reputation and decides one night of meaningless sex with the attractive Texas charmer is just what she needs to get over her self-imposed dry spell. Pax has more than a one-night stand on his mind, but will his bad-boy persona and demanding schedule ruin any chances of a happily ever after?

Content Warning: contains explicit sex and adult content

I love this book. I read this book in 1 seating and I couldn't put my iPad down. I fell in love with the characters, Sophia, Paxton, Maggie, and Sophia's parents.  I love that Paxton is a different name and we learn why he has the name Paxton, but you have to read the book to find out

Review: The Marriage Agenda

For this review, I read The Marriage Agenda by Sarah Ballance, which was my first book by this author.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Chloe was dumped by Knox because he did not want to commit to her.  I think it was fear.  Fear that he will be like his father.  Fear that he would treat his wife like his father treated his mother.  Knox needs to think that no, I won't be like my father and yes, I can see a future with Chloe.  Men can be stupid at times.  Knox is nothing like his father.

Goodreads Description:
There's a scandal brewing in Washington...

Knox Hamilton wants his father’s recently vacated Senate seat, but the only way his conservative constituents are going to vote for Knox is if he loses his playboy reputation. Which means Knox needs a wife. There’s only one woman with whom he's willing to share his life, but after the way he broke things off with her, will she give him another chance?

Chloe Lochlan's job is on the line. If she doesn't grab a big headline, she'll be ousted from her gig at the major newspaper where she works as a reporter. Knox's offer of marriage chills her to the bone. He already crushed her heart once and she has no intention of letting it happen again. But being with him gives her the kind of access to top tier social events rarely granted to media, access that could land her the story of a lifetime. When the truth she uncovers threatens to destroy the man she still loves, will she bury the story...or his career?

What would you do if the man you loved dumped you due to his fear of commitment and he can not love and gives you this marriage proposal?  Would you agree?  Knox promises her a story out of their marriage.  What story will Chloe find?  Would it ruin her husband and in laws?  If it did, could Chloe do it?

This book had me hooked from page one.  I love how we meet Knox and Chloe.  Chloe was set up on a blind date with this man that I think was more interested in Knox!!  I was set up on a blind date by 2 friends and I ended up marrying him.  Those 2 friends were the best man and maid of honor at our wedding.  That was almost 19 years ago.

Review: Skylar's Dream

For this review, I read Skylar's Dream by Caissy Boudreau, which was my first book by this author.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.  From what I have read about Caissy Boudreau, this book was her debut book and I think she did very well.

This book takes place in Pennsylvania!  I am in PA.  It is nice to see a book that takes place in PA.  I have included a small description from Goodreads because this book was different for me to read, but I could not put it down.  It had me not waiting to put it down.  I had to read more so I can find out what, who, where, when.....

There was so much that comes at you that you are like "what?" and you just keep reading.  In this book, we come across Archangels, werewolves, vampires, shifters, Satan, God, and God’s own Angels.  I especially love reading the phrase "Bat Shit Crazy" in reference to Skylar's mother, who left her and her dad.  I don't want to give anything away so I say "Read this book."

Skylar lives in a small Pennsylvania town with her best friend, Rhiannon and her best friend’s brother, Blaze. The three have been inseparable for most of their lives. Now in their early twenties and out on their own everything is about to change. But one things remains constant for the beautiful Skylar…she has loved Blaze for as long as she can remember. Fear is the only thing that stands between her and the man that has held her heart for her whole life. Can she trust him with her heart or will she lose him forever?

Dreams of a happily ever after with the man of her dreams pale in comparison to what awaits Skylar while she sleeps. Dark angels hell bent on destroying her world, freezing every church in the world cause this vital young woman to doubt her very sanity. Frightened by the images that follow her every night, Skylar finds her friends are all she has. Can these three brave friends fight forces beyond their imagination to save all they’ve ever known?

Three friends embark on a journey that will forever change not only the world but everything they have ever known. Will they succeed or will all be lost....

Review: Red Carpet Romance

My next book review is called Red Carpet Romance by Jean C. Joachim.   This was my first book by this author.  I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

I love the cover especially the baby toy hanging from the Letter C.  I could picture Susanna walking down the red carpet with Quinn.   I am a big romantic at heart and love books like this one.  You know girl meets boy.  Boy has issues with knowing if he really is in love with girl.  They go through something then realize they were meant to be.  Quinn is a likeable character, who is an actor, but wants his privacy.  He hires Susanna to be his nanny for Junior.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because I could not put this book down every time I was reading it.  It had me hooked on the first page.  I am definitely going to be reading more of Jean C. Joachim especially in this series.  I can not wait to get the rest of this series so I can learn more about these characters and more.
