Review: Ace: A Bad Boy Romance Part 4

For this review, I chose Ace: A Bad Boy Romance Part 4 by Frankie Love.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
❤️PART FOUR OF A STEAMY NEW SERIAL ❤️

ACE

I don't take women to bed.
I take them against the wall, hard and fast, and when I come I make sure they remember.
They always do.
I'm cocky as hell, but sh*t, I've got reason to be. I own Spades Royalle, the sexiest casino in Vegas. F*ck, the sexiest casino in the country.
I'm gonna keep building my empire all on my own - my ties with the mafia are in my past, buried with the bones of my family.
I like my money clean and my women dirty.
That is until I met Emmy Rose.
She says she doesn't want a bad boy.
I guess I'll have to change her pretty little mind.

EMMY ROSE

F*ck. My. Life.
I made one rule when I moved to Vegas two months ago - I would not screw bad boys. Or asshats. Or really anyone I met on the casino floor. And the thing is, I've made good on my promise.
I'm here for one reason, and one reason only: it's a f*cking job.
Landing in Vegas was never my plan. But plans change when your sister is in a coma and you don't know who put her there.
If only she'd wake up and I could get some answers.
Until then, I'll do everything in my power to avoid men who have a past as shady as my own.

This part was short and fast paced.  I went from part 3 to part 4 because I had to know what happened.  Each part keeps getting better and better.  Ace and Emmy are still so drawn to each other.   I am still on the edge of my seat!

I have said this for each part and it has not changed.  Love that we get both Emmy and Ace's point of view.

Another cliffhanger!

Review: Sweet Texas Kiss

For this review, I chose Sweet Texas Kiss by Monica Tillery.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Small town. Big secrets. Welcome to Sweet Ridge.
The Cooper brothers receive the shock of their lives when their deceased father, owner of the lucrative Guac Ole company, wills away their inheritances to three random women.
No one's more surprised when Jack Cooper leaves the family estate to music superstar Macy Young than his oldest son. Seeing his childhood memories being handed over to his high school rival - the first woman to break his heart - stings, especially when Gavin is left only a pair of old reading glasses and a cryptic note. Luckily, Macy can't sell the house for one year - plenty of time for Gavin to find a way to get it back.
Living in the harsh spotlight of country music fame has cost Macy, and a little hometown peace and quiet just might heal her soul. But giving up and giving back Gavin's greatest prize may not be the tune she plans to sing.
Can a country star and a country veterinarian find a way to bury their animosity and rediscover their first love in the process?

Sensuality Level: Sensual

This is the first book in the Sweet Texas Secrets.  After the passing of Jack Cooper's father, things did not go as him and his brothers thought they would go.  Each one thought they would receive something from their father in his will, but it went to a woman!  I knew half way into the book that his father was looking out for each one of his boys.  The only way he could after his death.  It was sweet.

Jack thought the family home would go to him.  He dreamed his entire life what life would be like if he had this home.  To bring his wife home.  To bring their children home.  But, his father left the house to Macy, an old childhood friend of Jack's and they have not seen each other for years.

Macy is a music superstar and a tv music competition judge.  She was part of a duo- Young and Wilde, but her best friend died.  Macy fell apart.  Stop singing.  She needed to get away and when the house fell in her lap, she went home to a town she has not stepped foot in for years.  Jack is a veterinarian and loves animals.

I can not wait to read the other books in this series.

Wow! This was a great book! Once again, I love how the author sets it up with the point of view of Emmy and Ace.  Once again this book was fast paced. I did not realized I was at the end until I was there.  The last thing is that this book is hot! Great chemistry between Emmy and Ace.

Review: Unpredictable Love

For this review, I chose Unpredictable Love by Jean C. Joachim.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
When Amber signed her sister’s name on a pen pal letter to a Marine, it was only meant to be a little white lie. As usual, Jory Walker, older sibling, stepped in to make her sister’s mistake right. Jory didn’t intend to send more than one or two letters.
When faced with four letters from SSGT Trent Stevens in Afghanistan, Jory had no choice but to correspond. What harm could it do? After all, she was Jory, that was no lie. But the picture Amber had sent, of herself in a bikini –well, that wasn’t Jory by a long shot.
Since she was in no danger of falling for a man so far away –Jory kept writing. SSGT Stevens could never be the man of her dreams. They had nothing in common. Or did they?
What started off as an innocent ruse, morphed into a monstrous web of deceit. Would unpredictable love break her heart?

This was the first in a new series for Ms Joachim.  It is called Pine Grove.  This book was a great start for this new series.  I am not sure how many books or what the titles are in it.  Once I find out, I will update it.

Amber signs up to be a pen pal to a Marine, who is overseas, but she signs her sister's name.  Now Jory is getting mail from SSGT Stevens and wondering why she has not written back.   Jory plans to write him back and come up with a reason why she can't write anymore.  Does this happen?  Or is there something about Trent that gets to her.

To me, Amber was the irresponsible one and Jory was the responsible one.  They have always been described as pretty and smart one.  Jory raised her sister once their parents died.  Then, they moved in with their aunt and they all became a close knit family.

I love the idea that these 2 had a chance to really get to know one another through letters.  With email and video chat, when was the last time you wrote an actual letter?  I am not sure if I could tell you when for me.  My favorite part was reading their letters back and forth to one another.  Will Jory tell Trent the truth about the photo?  If she does, will he forgive her?  Is Trent the man of her dreams?

I can not wait to read the other book(s) in this series.  So very excited about this new series!!

Review: Heated Match

For this review, I chose Heated Match by Lynne Silver.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
The Program: an organization of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility, and intellect. These men are willing to put their lives on the line to execute the government’s most dangerous missions.

Journalist Loren Stanton wants nothing more than to break a big story that will catapult her career. But the only item that’s caught her eye lately is Adam Blacker, a soldier whose rugged sexiness sets her pulse racing. When rumors surface that he’s part of a classified government program, Loren has every excuse she needs to get as close to him as possible, no matter what it takes.

As team leader of a covert ops group, Adam steers clear of all journalists, but there’s no denying the blazing passion Loren stirs in him. A scorching night together convinces him their connection is more than skin-deep, still, he’s not ready to let down his guard—his genetic enhancements make him an exceptional soldier, but what woman would want to commit to his high-risk life?

When a dangerous enemy from Adam’s past resurfaces and Loren insists on joining the fight rather than running, he’s forced to face a dark truth. This courageous, loyal woman moves him in ways he never imagined possible. And now that Adam knows she has his back, he also knows that he has to win her heart.

This is book #1 in the Coded for Love series.  Book #2 is False Match.  Book #3 is Conquered Match.  Book #4 is Desire Unmatched.  Book #5 is Desperate Match.  #6 is First Match.

I absolutely loved this book.  The idea behind this book had me at a few questions I have for Miss Silver.  How did you come up with the idea of genetic enhancement soldiers?  I kept thinking about how Adam and Loren were so attracted to one another like a magnetic.  Is that attractive due to the genetic enhancement?

This book grabs you from the first page and does not let go until the end of the month.  It leaves you wanting more.  I know this is my first book I have read about genetically enhanced soldiers.

I can not wait to read the second book, Conquered Match.

Review: After the Final Dandelion

For this review, I chose After the Final Dandelion by Brooke Williams.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
After Renee Lockhart appeared on the local TV dating show "Accept this Dandelion" and found the love of her life, she thought she was done with TV. But when she hears that the entire city has bets on how soon she and her fiancé will break up, she is determined to show that their love is meant to last. When Mike, the KETO producer, approaches her about airing the wedding live, she jumps at the chance. Once she is set up with a famous wedding coordinator, plans take a turn for the worse and the simple wedding they wanted becomes the event of the year. In the meantime, Eva Merida is dealing with her own life changing opportunity. Though she’s in love with her boyfriend, who she met on the second season of the dating show, she can’t turn down the chance to investigate a Hollywood TV show when offered a position. When she runs into an old flame, she questions the stability of her current relationship. Will Renee be able to prove her love for Ben to the city before her wedding falls apart? Who will Eva choose on her own emotional roller coaster? Hilarity ensues as the wedding of the decade melts into the disaster of the year. Because everyone knows weeds take over every garden…

This is the third book in this series, Dandelions.  Book #1 is Accept this Dandelion.  Book #2 is Dandelions on the Road.  It is nice to be back with the Accept This Dandelion gang and to see what the couples are up to from Book ! & 2.

This book is about the wedding of Renee and Ben, who met in the first book when Renee was on the Accept This Dandelion show.  The KETO producer, Mike, wants Renee and Ben to air their wedding live.  I would not do this.  I wanted our wedding about us.  Our styles.  We got that.  Will Renee and Ben have their wedding as their style or will it be what the producers want?

This was well written.  This was also funny and sweet.  I think you need to have read the first 2 books to completely understand somethings.    I really hope that there is a fourth book to see what happens with Eva and Brian.

Review: Some Like It in Handcuff

For this review, I chose Some Like It in Handcuffs by Christine Warner.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Sunny Kennedy, the only female in a family of blue blood male detectives, is determined to prove testosterone isn’t the only qualification required to solve a cold case. Handcuffed while undercover then taken to the precinct by an attractive detective, her domineering family demands she work with Detective Judson Blackwolf, or she’s off the case. Judson Blackwolf thinks women in law enforcement should work behind the scenes. The prospect of working with his Captain’s sexy daughter doesn’t thrill him. He only agrees in hopes of solving the murder of his one time mentor’s daughter. Once the case is over, he’s moving to Montana to heal his wounds from the loss of his last partner. But when their investigation takes a dangerous turn, Sunny and Judd soon realize their feelings for each other cannot be denied.

Judson is not thrilled to be working with the Captain's daughter and thinks females in law enforcement should be behind the scenes.

This was a cute sexy fun read!  Sunny has had to be strong to voice her opinions in a family of all males.  She is not going to allow Judson stop her from doing what she wants or needs to do.

Beautiful and colorful pictures. Very educational.  I absolutely love the photo of the husky on the How to Use this book page.  Then, I was happy to see more huskies later on in the book.  We have 2 huskies and I can tell you when they go through blowing of the fur there is hair everywhere!!  My older son wants to go see the Iditarod Great Sled Race.  It is going to be his graduation present.

My favorite was polar bear, emperor penguins, arctic wolves, arctic foxes,

I know I could not survive in the South Pole where the summers are -18 and the winters are -76.  I did not know that polar bears can smell a seal from 20 miles away.  Wow!!  Harp Seals are my favorite out of the many different kinds of seals.  The polar activities are great.  The resources at the end of the book is great.  I have taken my kids to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and we loved it there.  We definitely want to go back.

I definitely want to buy this book for my daughter. She loves reading about ocean animals and I know she would love this book.  My sons would love this book, too.  They love penguins and huskies.

Review: Animal Planet Animals

For this review, I chose Animal Planet Animals: A Visual Encyclopedia.

A beautiful gift for any animal lover, a portion of proceeds benefits Animal Planet's R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond.) animal partner charities dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our communities and in the wild.

Beautiful and colorful pictures. Very educational. A few of my favorites are Siberian Tiger, Coyote, Gray Wolf, polar bear, panda bear, harp seal, girafees, dolphins, zebras, and penguins.  I did not know that panda bears have an extra finger.  I hope that the Asian Elephants are not hunted for their tusks and their habitat is safe.  It is sad that they are endangered.  The bird part reminds me why I love taking the kids to our Aviary.  The splitting cobra I would not want to meet at all.  He splits his venom up to 8 feet.

I definitely want to buy this book for my daughter. She loves reading about ocean animals and I know she would love this book.

Review: Heart Like Mine

For this review, I chose Heart Like Mine by Maggie McGinnis.

I requested ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
ONLY LOVE CAN HEAL A BROKEN HEART

Delaney Blair loves her job at Echo Lake's Mercy Hospital, where she's developed a reputation for being smart, fair, and driven. When she's assigned to cut funding, she has to temporarily relocate her office, put on borrowed scrubs, and go toe-to-toe with Dr. Joshua Mackenzie, the interim head of the pediatrics department. His killer smile and rock-star body are distractions Delaney could do without, but she's determined to stay focused while she brings his budget into line. It's not working.
Beloved by his colleagues and patients alike, Josh is too busy caring for sick kids to talk numbers with the sexy, stiletto-clad Delaney. Every time they talk business, tensions run high…but so does a powerful attraction neither of them can ignore. When an emergency brings Mercy to its knees, Delaney and Josh must work together to save lives. But can they also find a way into each other's hearts?

This is book #2 in the Echo Lake series.  Book  #.5 is Snowflake Wishes.  Book #1 is Forever This Time (reviewed this).  Book #3 is She's Got a Way (Release Day is August 30).

Delaney is a strong woman, who was given a tough assignment at work.  She has to cut the budget in the pediatrics department.  The doctor in charge of that department is Dr Joshua MacKenzie, who does not answer his phone so she has to go down to that floor.  Delaney hates that floor for personal reasons and it is so sad (read the book).  Joshua wants her to move her office to his floor so she can see how the floor works.  I think that is a great idea.  How can one cut funds in a department like pediatrics? Especially if they do not know all that is involved.

Joshua is a hard working doctor at the hospital and Avery's Home.  He does not think he has the time for a relationship.  The attraction between Delaney and Joshua is hot.  Can they keep their personal feelings separate from their working relationship?  Will they be able to be together?

I can not wait to read the next book in this series, which comes out on August 30.

Review: One Hot Summer

For this review, I chose One Hot Summer by Melissa Cutler.

I requested ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Welcome to Dulcet, Texas, home of the legendary Briscoe Ranch Resort, where one woman will discover that even love is bigger in the Lone Star State...

Celebrity wedding planner Remedy Lane is Hollywood royalty--until a scandal sends her packing to the wilds of Texas. She has a knack for leaving disaster in her wake, but she's determined to reboot her career at Briscoe Ranch, a luxury resort known for extravagant weddings. Little does she know that weddings don't happen at the resort without the approval of the town's cowboy swaggering, too-hot-for-his-own good fire chief, Micah Garrity.

Micah knows trouble when he sees it, and all it takes is one glimpse of Remedy's princess airs for him to know he's met his match. Too bad he can't stop thinking about her--even when she brings about one disaster after another at the resort. He and Remedy clash at every turn, but they can't stop the sparks flying between them. They come from such different worlds--does love stand a chance or will this fire burn too hot for either of them to handle?

This is book #1 in the One and Only series.  Book #.5 is The Mistletoe Effect.  Book #2 is One More Taste.  I loved this book.  Remedy moved to Texas because of a scandal that broke and she needed to reboot her career as a wedding planner.  When Remedy moved to Texas, it was to be temporary until she reboot her career so she could go back to LA, but once she gave Texas and the people in town a chance, she started to love being there.

All of her weddings had to be approved by the Fire Chief.  Remedy and Micah was like fire and water.  They clashed so much.  They were from different worlds, but their attraction was off the chart.

Love how Miss Cutler gave us a look into Dulcet, Texas,  and the people.  Besides Remedy and Micah being a favorite of my, I fell in love with Grandma June.  I like the love story that Grandma June and her husband had is one for the books.  Everyone in town knows of their story.  I also enjoyed the history about the church/chapel where Grandma June and her husband was married.

Review: The Three Arrangement

For this review, I chose The Three Week Arrangement by Sarah Ballance.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Ethan Chase isn't interested in dating. After losing the woman he loved more than life itself, he'd much rather ride solo, but his family is dead set on fixing him up. To get them off his back, he hooks up with ultra-adventurous, ultra-temporary adventure photographer, Rue Campbell. All he has to do is survive three weeks in her orbit and he'll be single again, only without the pitying looks and pressure to move on.

Rue is literally counting the days until her plane leaves New York City. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but being Ethan's pretend girlfriend can't hurt, right? Wrong. With Ethan, there's no faking anything—in or out of the bedroom. With the sheets burning hot and the clock ticking on their arrangement, Rue realizes she's falling for a man guaranteed to derail her goals...and break her heart.

I love reading books by Miss Ballance.  This is the third book in the Chase Brothers series.  Book #1 is Five Things I Love About You.  Book #2 is For Seven Nights Only.  Both really good books.  This book is very good.  It is about Ethan Chase, who lost his wife years ago.  His family wants him to move on, but he does not know how he is to do that when his wife meant everything to him.  Rue Campbell will be leaving in 3 weeks for a photography job and she is counting down the days.  Rue and Ethan meet when he is visiting the house where his wife and him lived.  I think it is fate that Ethan met Rue.  Rue mentions to her mother that Ethan is her date for an upcoming charity event.  She realizes that she should had talked to Ethan about this, but she could not go with the man her mother wants her with.  So, they come up with an arrangement to help them keep their families off their backs.  Will this arrangement be something more?  Can Ethan move on with Rue?

I can not wait to read more from this author!
