For this review, I chose Tape to Tape by V.L. Lochey.
I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.
Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Venom defensive coach Dot "The Shadow" West has made a nice life for herself. She's found a new position on an up-and-coming women's professional hockey team, her daughter is thriving, she gets along well with her fellow coaches and her players admire and respect her. She's proud to have accomplished so much by herself. Everything is running smoothly in her life with no help from anyone, thank you very much.
Sadly, there's one annoying glitch in Dot's new life, and it's in the form of good-looking Theo Grier, former Wildcat goalie and co-host of a controversial sports talk radio show based in Philadelphia, home of the Venom. When Dot loses her cool and calls in to spar with Theo on the air her structured and solitary existence takes a sudden unexpected turn. Before she can hip check the smug fool out of her life she somehow ends up working with him on a new talk radio sports program.
Can she defend her heart against the unwanted feelings Theo is stirring up? Or will she continue to guard herself, and her past decisions, against the offensive moves being made by the ex-goalie? The only man to ignite her passions - and ire - in years?
This is the third book in the Venom series. Clean Sweep and Twirly Girl are the first 2 books.
I love that us readers can see our favorite characters from the To Love a Wildcat Series. I love that this series is center around powerful woman, who kick butt on the ice and off! Dot is the Defensive Coach for the Venom team. She is a single mother, who has to be strong not only for herself, but for her daughter, who I love. She sees the world differently. To me, she is more into books and learning about Britain, where she would love to go one day. Dot takes pride that she has been doing just great without any help anyone else especially a man.
Theo is an ex Wildcat and has his own talk radio show and he is not on Dot's good side at all. They are like Oil and Water. Fire and Ice. Theo is so full of himself. Dot makes the mistake of calling into his show and giving her mind. He realizes who she is and the consequence of her actions is not something she is happy about. Now Dot has to be on "their" show. How will this happen when Dot can not stand this man? Will Theo continue with the male ego he has? Will she see him as something other than a ?? not sure what to put there.
I am looking forward to reading more from this series and seeing what the Wildcats and their wives are up to.
