Review: The Other Side of the World Book 2, Talia's Story

For this review, I chose The Other Side of the World Book 2, Talia's Story by Suzanne Whitfield Vince.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Her mission in life is simple: Make a difference in the lives of others…

After three tours in the Middle East as an Army physician, Talia Fournier accepts a position in a field hospital in South Sudan. Love was never part of the plan. But when she finds herself falling for the sexy and insufferable Jack McCabe, she begins to reevaluate her life.

His only fear in life is falling in love…

But when Dr. Jack McCabe meets the breathtaking new doctor, his resolve begins to crumble. And when Talia decides to adopt seven year old orphan Hadi Okafor, Jack realizes an even greater fear: becoming a father.

In a country torn apart by conflict, Talia wages a war of her own in order to save the child from a fate worse than death. Her opponent? Leader of the Army forces in Sudan, General Abdul-Samad Hamid who has claimed Hadi as his own child.

Will Talia succeed in getting Hadi out of the country without getting caught? Will Jack put aside his fears and help them escape before the brutal dictator finds them? Find out in this second installment of The Other Side of the World.

Talia was a breathe of fresh air.  It was great to see a strong woman, who has gone through so much in her life and saving lives.  This book was my favorite in this series.  Us readers met Talia in Book #1 when Luke and her was stationed overseas in the Army.  Now it is time for Talia to have her own book and I absolutely loved this book.

If you are looking for a great book or a new to you author, then I highly recommend this book!

Review: The 48-Hour Hookup

For this review, I chose The 48-Hour Hookup by Sarah Ballance.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Who knew a sweaty photo would be good for business?

Now unwanted booty calls are coming in as fast as work orders, and Liam Chase needs to get away. Cue a job upstate. His new client is hot as hell, but he left NYC to escape attention, not to hook up with the city’s “Runaway Bride”.

With three disastrous relationships under her belt, it’s clear Claire Stevens’s judgment sucks. And what’s she’s feeling for America’s newest sex god? Obviously another hormone-fueled mistake.

But when she accidentally fells a tree on his truck, leaving them stranded in a winter storm with a chocolate-snatching raccoon, there’s something to be said for body heat.

Too bad neither can trust their explosive chemistry…

This is the 4th book in the Chase Brothers series.  I was definitely laughing out loud a lot.  A client shared a photo of Liam on the internet as the Hot HVAC guy.  Now Liam is being bugged by every single lady.  He jumps at the chance to get away for a job in the mountains, but everywhere he turns he has issues like a tree landing on his truck.  Liam is there to work on the heating system in a lodge where he is stuck with the runaway bride.

I love books about the main characters being snowed in and there is nothing to do, but wait until they can leave.  Oh, what is there to do?

Review: Hot in the Hamptons

For this review, I chose Hot in the Hamptons by Nana Malone.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Hot Night in the Hamptons , Nana Malone

A fling with the gorgeous best man is not on Elina Sinclair's to-do list as maid of honor at her best friend's Hamptons wedding. Yet former child star Gabe Anderson is intent on seduction. He's also a new client at her image consulting firm—which makes a relationship strictly forbidden. Can the onetime playboy convince her that he's the best mistake she'll ever make?

Elina Sinclair has been the maid of honor too many times.  She does not like weddings at all because of her mother.  Elina goes to her best friend's wedding and has this spark with the Best Man, Gabe Anderson, who in the past loved woman and leaves them.  Now Gabe is the new client at her image consulting firm and any relationship is not allowed.  What will they do?  Will they fight the sparks or will they give into it?  I say if you find that love you know the one who makes everything better, then don't fight it.  Run into that person's arms and stay there.

I love books about weddings and hook ups.  The what if they get together.  The what if there is something there.  What would you do if you find "the One" at a friend's wedding?  I say go for it!  What do you have to lose?  The better question is what do you have to gain?
