Review: Danielle Walker's Against All Grains Celebrations

For this review, I chose Danielle Walker's Against All Grains Celebrations by Danielle Walker.

I requested ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
rom the two-time New York Times best-selling author ofthe Against All Grain series, comes 125 recipes for grain-free, dairy-free, gluten-free comfort food recipes for holidays and special occasions.

When people adopt a new diet for health or personal reasons, it's the parties, holidays, and events with strong food traditions they worry about most. In Celebrations, best-selling author Danielle Walker provides recipes and menus for twelve special occasions, from a child's birthday party and baby shower, to a backyard barbeque, romantic Valentine's Day dinner for two, and even a Halloween party. Of course, Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner, New Year's Eve party, and Easter/Passover brunch are also covered--along with suggestions for beverages and cocktails and the all-important desserts. Nearly every recipe is photographed, and food and party images shot on location provide beautiful and creative entertaining ideas. Delicious and easy-to-prepare dishes encourage the whole family to get into the kitchen and create lasting memories--no matter what the occasion.

I was really happy when I was approved for this cookbook.  Living my life with Celiac Disease was been hard at first.  Finding cookbooks like this one helps me live healthier.  To me, living gluten free is not a fade, but a way to be healthier.  Eating gluten makes me very sick.

In the beginning, I was scared to make baking dishes from scratch like I used to.  Well, I still am.  In the next few months, I am going to bake from scratch once again.  I love that Ms Danielle Walker breaks down all of the holidays including Mother's Day and Father's Day.  I want to make the Chocolate cake and vanilla cakes for my kids' birthdays.

Well written with photos.  I have one of her other cookbooks and this one I have to go buy.

Review: The Brands Who Came for Christmas

For this review, I chose The Brands Who Came for Christmas by Maggie Shayne.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:

All he wants is Maya, and their child.

How can he convince her that he hasn’t stopped thinking about her since then, much less, do so with the whole world watching? He has to prove himself to a woman he’s not even sure he’s worthy of. But he has no idea how.

The Oklahoma All-Girl Brands is a six-book, small town, contemporary romance series with shades of HOPE FLOATS and YOU’VE GOT MAIL. Spin off of the bestselling Texas Brand Series.

Review: When Snowflakes Fall

For this review, I chose When Snowflakes Fall by Tara Wyatt.

I requested ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
When Dr. Christie Harmon up and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming to escape a vicious scandal, she expected a quiet, lonely Christmas on-call as a pediatrician at the local hospital. But when she’s treating a little boy with a bump on the head, she doesn’t expect his dad to be so distractingly handsome…or single.

In the wake of his ex-wife’s abandonment five years ago, Luke Grayson has been focused on raising his son Ethan. The scars from the split run deep, and Luke hasn’t trusted another woman to come into their lives. But there’s something about the sweet—and sexy—Christie that has him wondering if something’s been missing.

Can new love help lonely hearts find a way? After all, Christmas is a time for magic…

This was the first book I read by this author, Ms Tara Wyatt.  I was looking for a sweet Christmas book to read.  One that would help me find my Christmas spirit!  Dr Christie Harmon packed and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming to escape a scandal.  She wanted a fresh start where no one knew what she did.  When a single father, Luke Grayson, is in the ER with his young son, Ethan, who has a bump on his head, Christie thinks he is attractive and sweet.  Christie is lonely, hurt from what has happened to her, and has a lot of self doubt.  Will she be able to get past all of her self doubt and hurt and move on with a great guy?  I love how Christie and Luke go back and forth.  They have great chemistry from the beginning.

This is book #1 in Graysons series and I can not wait to read book #2, Like Fresh Fallen Snow.  If you are looking to find your Christmas spirit, then I highly recommend this book!

Because once she does, his kisses and his embrace set off an explosive craving neither of them can control. Now Amy's caught in a love triangle, and she has a secret that she's going to have to share with both men, the sooner the better. Which one of them is worthy of her trust, and her commitment?

Review: Nashville SEAL: Jameson

For this review, I chose Nashville SEAL: Jameson by Sharon Hamilton.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Jameson and Lizzie's story continues with their beautiful wine country wedding, and the journey to becoming a new family with Charlotte. A final farewell to Nashville and Jameson's singing career nearly topples everything as Lizzie has to weather the long good-bye when Jameson deploys for his first dangerous mission. But there is perhaps greater danger at home for the SEAL families while the men are away.

This story takes place in San Diego and Sonoma County Wine Country, as well as overseas.

I love Ms Hamilton's SEAL Brotherhood series.  This was #15.  Nashville SEAL introduces us to the character of Jameson and Lizzie.  This book has their wedding.

Before I read this book, I did read the previous book (#14) so I would understand everything.  Ms Hamilton had this in the back of the book. (Thank you for that).
Lizzie got pregnant with her daughter, Charlotte, when she last saw Jameson at her parent's horse farm.  She never told him about his daughter.  Now Lizzie has to tell Jameson about Lizzie.  She is worried how he would react.

I loved this book!!  The setting sounded so beautiful in Wine Country.  Made me want to go.
