Release Blitz: Lightstuck

Title: Lightstruck
Author: Liz Crowe
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Release Date: May 30, 2017

Ross Hoffman held the potential for a perfect life in his hands—a life with Evelyn, the only woman he’d ever allowed himself to love, their baby, and…her husband, Austin Fitzgerald, who also happened to be his best friend. But the challenge of trying to make a threesome into something acceptable—much less the thought of actually sharing Evelyn with anyone—forces him to bolt. Determined to put all thoughts of their relationship behind him, Ross jumps headfirst into a new brewery job in Colorado, and back into the sort of sexual decadence that he hopes will distract him from his misery.

When he agrees to assist Austin through a spate of brewery mishaps, he lays eyes on his true fate—in the form of the petite, mysterious, and exotic Elisa Nagel. Hired as assistant brewer, Elisa is absolutely everything he believes he doesn’t want in a woman. But he’s drawn to her in ways he can’t explain, and can’t help but fall hard, fast, and deep, which places him square the middle of her horrific, until-now secret backstory.

Ross is determined that his love will conquer and overcome the horrors of Elisa’s past, allowing her to trust him with the only thing he desires—her heart.

“You really know how to make yourself scarce, don’t you?” Austin said by way of greeting.
Ross grunted a reply as he sat gingerly down into a chair at the kitchen table. The sunlight blaring through the window pierced him right in the eyeballs. It shoved the spike of pain nice and deep into his brainpan, blinding and deafening him for a few seconds. “What? Sorry. I’m a little fragile this morning.”
“Whatever, dude. So, can you come?”
“I already told Evelyn I would.” He couldn’t keep the snippy tone out of his voice. It was all he could do at that moment not to puke all over the expensive hardwood floor.
“What? When did you talk to her?” Austin sounded frazzled. But he’d sounded that way ever since Rose’s birth.
“Shit man, I don’t remember. What the hell day is it anyway?”
“What happened to Mr. Pure Living?”
“He got gang banged by a pack of succubus, all right? Cut him a break.”
“Nice,” Austin said. Ross couldn’t tell if he were amused or honestly pissed off.
“Whatever. So yeah, I told her at some point I’d help you guys. I’m somewhat persona non grata around here all of a sudden, anyway.” He rubbed his eyes. “Seriously, what day is it?”
Austin’s heavy sigh set Ross’ sensitive on edge. But he sat still, willing the clanging agony in his head to stop, knowing getting angry would only exacerbate it. “It’s Wednesday morning, eleven a.m. where I am, which makes it nine where you are.”
Shocked at the lost twenty-four hours, he lurched forward, which sent a jolt of nausea up his throat. “Oh, shit.”
“Yeah. So, I guess you heard it all, then. If you talked to Evelyn?”
“I, uh, don’t know,” he hedged as he stumbled to the kitchen sink just in case. The silence on the other end of the line made his pulse race. His good buddy was getting a tad bit bossy and Ross was in zero mood for it. “Guess you should tell me whatever the fuck it all is. Since the last I spoke to Evelyn it was Monday night. Tuesday seems to have been sucked away, along with every ounce of my—”
“Spare me.”
“Dude, just fill me in. Holly showed up here that same night and I’m pretty sure she drugged me or something.”
“Poor little snowflake,” Austin said, amusement clear in his voice this time.
“Yeah. I sure as hell wish I could remember any of it.” He touched his sore dick before pressing fingertips against the many, tiny burned spots and gouges on his chest. “So, anyway, what’s going on now, drama king?”
“Oh, not much I guess. Other than my wife was nearly raped and killed by a psycho almost-ex-employee before he got popped between the eyes by my strange new German lady brewer.”
“You really shouldn’t mess with me right now.” Ross kept his head lowered, waiting for the inevitable over the sink.
“I’m not.”
“Evelyn was…is she all right?” He poured another glass of water and forced it past the rising gorge in his throat.
“Yes. Thanks to Elisa Nagel, she is. Although that woman is now in custody and I gotta go post a two hundred fifty thou bail and get her scary ass in front of my lawyer.”
“Elisa…who?” The room had commenced spinning so he squeezed his eyes shut. “Oh, right. The Berliner brewer chick.” But he knew damn well who she was. Fronting with confusion was his reflex to counter the surge of emotion that had muscled past his pain at the sound of her name.

Amazon best-selling author, mom of three, Realtor, beer blogger, brewery marketing expert, and soccer fan, Liz Crowe is a Kentucky native and graduate of the University of Louisville currently living in Ann Arbor. She has decades of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as a three-continent, ex-pat trailing spouse. Her early forays into the publishing world led to a groundbreaking fiction subgenre, “Romance for Real Life,” which has gained thousands of fans and followers interested less in the “HEA” and more in the “WHA” (“What Happens After?”). Review: Chasing Love

For this review, I chose Chasing Love by Melissa West.

I requested an ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Farming family land on sunny Crestler’s Key, the sweet, sexy Littleton brothers are notorious bachelors. But all that will change when the right woman comes along…

There aren’t many things Charlie Littleton values more than his lifelong friendship with his buddy Lucas, currently home from a tour in Iraq. But when he discovers that Lucas’s younger sister, Lila, is back to assist the town’s overburdened veterinarian, Charlie is torn. She’s no longer the skinny, awkward kid he remembers, but a gorgeous woman—one Lucas would never approve of him dating. When Lucas asks him to watch out for Lila when he’s called to duty again, Charlie can’t say no—but he can’t pretend it’s easy to ignore his feelings either.

As a teen, Lila crushed on Charlie—hard—and the man he’s grown up to be is even more wonderful than she dreamed. Relationships are a tricky business, though, and too much history is at stake to risk one now. But every moment they’re together is heated by their simmering attraction—and one day an impulsive kiss leads to much more. What’s tangled in a matter of loyalty soon becomes a question of the kind of love worth chasing…

This is #2 of The Littleton Brothers.  #1 is Fighting Love and I have not read yet.  This is my first book I have read by this author, Melissa West.  I have been trying to read more books with dogs in them.  It is a way to honor our husky, Zeus, we lost days before Christmas, 2016.  I miss him every day.

Lila had a crush on Charlie since she was a teen.  Charlie had feelings, too, for her, but she is his best friend's little sister.  There is an unwritten rule for best friends not to date their sisters.  Right?  Lucas (her brother) is on a deployment and asks Charlie to watch his sister for him while he is away.  Lila has been though a lot since returning to her hometown to work in the only animal clinic with a boss that is something else (read to find out more!!).  I love how loyal Charlie is to Lucas, his best friend.  He did not want to cross a line with Lila, but he wanted something more with her.  In order to do that, Charlie had to speak to Lucas in person.

I can not wait to read the first book in this series.  If you are looking for a sweet best friend's little sister story, then this is what you are looking for.

Review: Tracking You

For this review, I chose Tracking You by Kelly Moran.

I requested an ARC copy of the ebook through Netgalley in exchanged for a honest review.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:

Love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's silent.

Gabby Cosette has always been dubbed the good girl of quaint Redwood Ridge, Oregon, and being permanently put in the friend zone has left her dating life stagnant. With no prospects in sight, she clings to her friends and resolves to not let loneliness drag her under. So when the town Battleaxes set their matchmaking sights on her, she figures it can't hurt. Yet the guy they think is perfect for her just happens to be not only her boss at the veterinarian clinic, but her best friend. Sure, Flynn O'Grady is attractive and the nicest guy around, but going there with him would topple both of their carefully constructed worlds and there would be no going back. Even if he is starting to make her girly parts zing.

Having been born deaf, Flynn has already felt like an outsider most of his life. Aside from his brothers, Gabby is about the only person who's gone out of her way to treat him as more than a handicap. Which is exactly why he's banked his secret attraction for his sweet, beautiful vet tech. Except his meddling family is trying to play Cupid and ruin the best thing to ever happen to him. Without Gabby, his work as a veterinarian, never mind his personal life, wouldn't flow. Determined to ignore the antics, he's secure in the knowledge she's not interested in him romantically. But then a kiss changes everything . . . and he's wondering if taking the ultimate shot at love might be worth the risk.

This is #2 of the Redwood Ridge series.  I have not read #1 (Puppy Love), but I want to.  I have been trying to read more books with dogs in them.  It is a way to honor our husky, Zeus, we lost days before Christmas, 2016.  I miss him every day.

Gabby has been Flynn's best friend since they were young.  Gabby has been his ears.  She has helped him in group settings so he would not feel left out.  What I do not get is how they did not think they belong together.  They were perfect for one other.  Everyone around them felt Gabby and Flynn as a couple, but they did not see that.  Maybe it was because they were not ready to see it.  Of course there were so matchmakers that helped.

If you are looking for a sweet friends to lovers romance, then this is your book!!

Review: Tyson

For this review, I chose Tyson by Kathy Coopmans.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:

I know what it’s like to have your heart split down the middle.
One-half chases her. The other half chases after the lies, deceit, and betrayal.
It’s a burning ball of hell.
Seconds, minutes, hours, and years all spent endured the depth of my own burning inferno.
All of it runs together while life passes me by.
Thirteen years ago, the woman I was in love with left me standing at the altar.
Hurt.
Broken.
Humiliated.
Some say thirteen is a lucky number.
Me? I curse the number.
Now she’s back.
Reminding me.
Torturing me.
She says things are not what they seem.
That they weren't then either.
Do I believe her?
Do I forgive?
Forget?
Time and truth will tell.

This is book #3 in The Saints series.  I have not read this series or anything by this author.  I loved this book.  It had me from page 1.  I could not put this book down.  Lynne has gone through so much in her life.  Losing the one man she has loved.  I am not going to tell you what she has been through.  It is better to read about it!  Tyson was mysterious.  He had this awe about himself.  One that the ladies would go crazy for.

This book drawn me in and would not let me go!  It had family drama, second chances, heartache, and so much more.

About the Author
I'm a little neurotic; I function on a tiny amount of sleep, and a huge amount of caffeine. I love old movies, green skittles, and have a slightly strange, and irrational fear of stormy weather.   When I'm not locked away scribbling down the crazy stories that occupy my mind, I can be found at home in East Yorkshire with my husband and two children.   I'm unashamedly fickle and can be persuaded to do just about anything with the promise of a good book, new shoes, or a bottle of bubbles. Oh, and did I mention I also love to write?

Excerpt

My insides shake as she walks out with a warm breeze only to be replaced by the freezing chills and the ice cold stare of Jude. He shuts the door behind him, stands firmly in place and stares me down.
“That intimidating look may work well on the criminals you pick up; I assure you, Jude, it will not work on me. Now, what can I help you with?” Yes, I know that Tyson and his friends are cops. I know everything there is to know about him. He left as planned for the Army shortly after I left him. He’s a womanizer. Sleeps around, drinks and gets into fights. He’s angry, bitter and out of control and it all reflects back on me. I’ve studied the symptoms of a broken person. I’m one myself.
I know very little about his time at war. I’m sure some of his anger stems from there. I feared for his life every day. Kept up with the news and terror weighed on my shoulders every second he was deployed. I’m so proud of him for what he’s done with his life. Coming from a young kid with the odds of turning into a criminal stacked against him to a man of honor. A soldier turned cop. I couldn’t ask for a better man than him.
I still haven’t been able to let him go. The man I left lives in the tattered mess of my heart, and I never stopped praying our lives would have been different, that fate wouldn’t have snuck up on me and kicked my feet right out from under me. Stole our chance at happiness. I’ve loved Tyson since the first day I laid my eyes on him. Through time and therapy, I thought I would be able to stop loving him. That there was no way, love could be this strong that months, years and a decade later it would still linger. The precious memories I kept locked away swarmed to the forefront of my mind the minute I saw him again. Stolen kisses, bodies tangled together. Our hearts so full of promises to one another. I broke them all. Broke him. Broke me. I’m here to fix it. Somehow.
I remain calm matching Jude’s gaze while every cell in my body is a quivering mess. My stomach shifts uneasily and sweat breaks out at the nape of my neck. But, I will not falter or allow him to see that his presence is terrifying me.
“When Tyson first told me it was you I didn’t want to believe it. I prayed for you to disappear, to crawl back under your rock and stay the hell away from him. Now after seeing what this is doing to him. I’ve changed my mind. Before I get into why I think you owe me an explanation as to what your plans are, I want you to know I’m standing here not trying to intimidate you. I’m here to tell you if your reasons are not legit. I will fucking destroy you.” Good luck. You can’t destroy something that’s already broken.
