Title: A Love Story
Series: Stories, #1
Author: Abrianna Denae

Jameson Harthorn and Alexander Breneman fell in love at the age of fourteen. At the age of seventeen, they lost it all. Now, at twenty-seven, they’re prepared to live out their lives separate and alone—neither man having the courage to find love again.
When Alex and Jamie come face to face for the first time in ten years, all the pain and heartbreak comes rushing back to meet them.
The former friends struggle to find their footing. They love each other and have for years, but the paths they’ve taken haven’t been easy. Their only hope at healing comes with digging back into the past that left them both physically and mentally scarred.
As they relearn who they are together and apart, they discover that the perfect love story is sometimes one that is messy and flawed.

I’ve just finished with the dishes when Alex backs me into the corner of the counter. “I want to kiss you. Can I?”
“You never have to ask, Lex.” I breathe.
His lips crash against mine seconds after I finish speaking.
His hands grip my hips, hard. This is so different than the other times we’ve kissed. I don’t know if Alex is trying to prove something to me, or to himself, but he’s not kissing me—he’s taking me.
His thumbs find my skin between my shirt and my jeans. It’s not much but the skin-on-skin contact makes me shiver.
He presses me harder into the counter, his leg moves between mine. Alex is a man who knows what he wants and what he wants is me. I’ve never felt very lucky, not with my past, but God, right now he makes me feel like the luckiest fucker on the planet.
My hands tangle in his hair. I give it a gentle tug and he moans in my mouth. I smile against his lips.
I tug harder and those fingers grip me tighter. “You’re trouble,” he mutters against my mouth.
“Like you didn’t already know that.”
Moving my hands from his hair to his shoulders I press my mouth tight against his.
I push until Alex is pressed against the stove. My erection rubs against his and we both hiss.
This won’t go any further than kissing tonight, we’re not ready, but fuck, talk about pent-up desire.
This is where my ability to hide comes in handy. I’ll wait as long as Alex needs. It’s hard to pretend I don’t crave him as much as I do, but fuck, I’ll wait.
That doesn’t mean I’m a fucking saint.
“Shit, Lex, you drive me crazy.”
“How do you think I feel?” He pants. “I haven’t been with anyone in almost three years, Jamie. Even though I’ve been good at hiding it I want you.
The emotional baggage we both carry isn’t a deterrent for my dick.”
Pressing my groin harder against his I savor his moan. “One day I’m going to have you fuck me,” I whisper. My lips hover just inches away from his ear. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had that.
This past month and a half have been killer, Lex.” I press against him so that we’re practically touching from head to toe. He lets out a staggering breath.
His hands grip the back of my shirt. Mine have a tight hold on his hips. “I have a feeling that the second you enter me everything I’ve always wanted will fall into place.
I almost can’t wait for that day.” I press a kiss to his ear. “Almost can’t wait.”
Pulling back so I can stare into his lust filled eyes I tell him, “it’s because I respect our relationship so much that I’m not dragging you upstairs right now.
I’m good at pretending, Lex.
I’ll pretend as long as you need me to.”
I slam my lips against his before he gets a chance to respond. I don’t need his words, just the feel of his body against mine. His hard dick rubbing against my hip, my leg, and my own hard-as-steel cock.
His tongue pushing and probing the inside of my mouth.
His teeth nipping and scraping across my lips.
Someday soon we’ll need words, but in this moment all we need is each other.
