“What if the life you lived was never yours?”
Since Aaron’s youth, the mission was always his focus. Infiltration, assassination, any job that involved putting a price on someone’s head—he’d been trained to execute them flawlessly. But, as the bodies began to pile up and the grip of the organization tightened like a chain around him, something else tugged him in the other direction. Eventually, he decided to make a change—he chose to take his life back in his own hands, even if he wasn’t sure what to do with it.
But change, as it often does, came in an unexpected way. On a mission gone awry, death claimed him. However, death wasn’t the end.
Aaron woke again, transported to a reality unlike his own. Reborn into high nobility in a magical world, he finds himself with a new opportunity to thrive, but it is not without trials. Before he can truly claim this life as his own, he must first end the exile that has been thrust upon him.
In this world offering a second chance, where will his journey take him? Join Aaron as he discovers his path in this new life.
Excerpt
The wind on the plateau was dry and steady.
Aaron stood alone beneath the noon-bright sky, the horizon stretched wide
in every direction. His stance was grounded: legs set apart in measured distance,
his hands resting atop the hilt of his sword, and a blade stabbed deep into the
stone-packed earth before him. The Aevum sword shone faintly under the sun,
catching flecks of the desert’s gracious heat and light.
There was a strange peace to the moment, but he knew that peace wouldn’t
last long.
Needless to say, Aaron was on edge for the moments that lay ahead. He
trusted Sylvia wholeheartedly, but a tension lingered beneath his calm.
He managed to steady himself, at least for a while, but then he felt it.
A subtle tug swirled, like something pulling at his soul. Then, the air shifted,
sudden and heavy like the pressure drop before a storm. A faint ripple of familiar
mana followed, trailing just behind.
They’d arrived.
An army stood before him—row after row of armored maran soldiers, their
banners rippling in the desert wind. There were hundreds, maybe thousands, far
more than Sylvia had warned him about.
It was… a lot more than he was expecting.
But his expression stayed refrained.

About the Authors
Vi Mai is an author and co-creator of Asteria: A World Unbound. Born in 2001, he grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he spent his early years surrounded by technology and stories—especially the kind found in fantasy and sci-fi books. That love for imagined worlds stayed with him, even as he pursued studies in engineering, business, and computer programming at the University of Houston, Texas. After two years studying, he made the difficult but deliberate decision to step away from school and follow what had always been his true passion: storytelling.
His career path since then has spanned multiple industries. He began by coaching for eSports organizations and training programs, while also taking on various side jobs to support his growth. Leveraging his experience in coaching, client acquisition, and lead generation, he transitioned into a sales and marketing leadership role, contributing to business development across several start-up ventures. Through it all, he never stopped writing—quietly building toward something bigger, one page at a time.
That journey eventually led to the founding of the Asteria Creative Group.

Adam Jaskuloski is a fantasy author debuting with the fantasy epic Asteria: A World Unbound. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, his love for storytelling began at age seven after reading The Lightning Thief, which led to a deep passion for fantasy through series like Fablehaven and Eragon. Though his interest in novels faded during his teenage years, story remained central to the media he consumed—especially in video games.
Originally pursuing computer programming at the University of Utah, Adam shifted paths during the pandemic, delving into his passion for theater. He studied directing, stagecraft, stage management, and play-writing, which broadened his creative skill set.
In college, longtime friend Vi Mai approached him with the idea of co-authoring a fantasy novel. Despite early hesitation, Adam joined the project, eventually taking the lead on expanding the world’s systems—developing its cultures, mythologies, and magic. After graduating in 2024, he committed full-time to the world of Asteria.
Outside of writing, Adam enjoys video games like Final Fantasy VII, anime such as One Piece, and playing piano when time allows.
