Book Review: Wild Fire by Jessica Myel

For this review, I chose Wild Fire by Jessica Myel.

I received an ARC copy of the e-book for an honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Love is Useless.

Lacey Donahue
They say judgment comes in many forms, and I experienced it on a stage most of my life. I was judged on my looks and my ability to perform. Then I finally saw my way out, and I took it. I didn’t care what the cost was. I had hoped leaving pageantry behind would give me the freedom I had always longed for. For the first time, I would have the chance to make my own decisions. Then my parents arranged a marriage between me and a stern cowboy to settle their debt that no amount of money could pay. But looks can be deceiving, and freedom must be won, so I would fight until it was mine, no matter the cost.

Colby West
I pride myself on my pragmatism and foresight. My goal always has been and always will be to continue my family’s legacy. I chose to launch West Ranch into its next era. Everything was working just as I planned. Then I missed a payment. I had a plan, but then the terms changed. In my haste to figure out how to pay it as quickly as possible, I was presented with an option that would give me the time I needed to catch up —marriage. I had never given it, or love, any thought. I found it useless. Regardless, I would not be marrying for love. I would be marrying to fix the problem.

What I didn’t see coming was a formidable woman full of resilience that would not only shake my carefully laid plans. But change them and show me a better way, because the cost was higher than I or my family could pay.

This is book #4 in the Wild Series.  Wow! I can’t believe the series is done. Sad to see the West family go. I want to know more. So many emotions during this book. Colby and Lacey had a different meet cute than other couples, but it makes for a good story.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
TWO ADRENALINE JUNKIES WITH EVERYTHING TO LOSE.
Ada Buxley, the confident barrel racer with a dark past, refuses to accept defeat. As she gains notoriety with her competitive spirit, it all comes crashing down with a right hook. Ada finds herself between a rock and a hard place with no other choice but to look to the one man she’s not sure she can trust. Weary of the infamous playboy and bull rider, Knox West makes her an offer she can’t refuse.

Knox West, the middle brother with a winning smile, charming attitude, and serious commitment issues. As an up-and-coming bull rider, he uses his skill to help save his family. But when his playboy charm comes back to bite him, he comes up with a plan to help his image and keep the spotlight off the ranch. When Knox meets Ada, they strike a deal, and she unwittingly gives him a reason to be better than who his family thinks he is and more than he believes about himself.

The rules were simple, but when the lines start to blur they start to wonder if the rules they made for each other were the things preventing them from winning it all.

This is book #3 in the Wild Series.  This is my favorite book of the series. (I think I said that about Wild Thing).  So sweet. So romantic.  Cried. Laughed.  So many more emotions. I can’t wait to read the next book. Love the West family.  Knox and Ada are my favorite couple in the West family.

Book Review: Wild Thing by Jessica Myel

For this review, I chose Wild Thing by Jessica Myel.

I picked this e-book from the selection of Kindle Unlimited books.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Change is hard, but it's inevitable. Kara Barrett I lived a high-octane life; I worked hard and played harder. I was a lioness tearing my prey to shreds. One night of passion led to two pink lines. I didn't mind; it was a blessing, an exciting new chapter in my life. But new chapters don't always start the way you expect, and mine started with a small town called Paxton and a grumpy cowboy. He burst into my cafe and told me to stop changing things that didn't need fixing. I wasn't trying to change anyone or anything. I was trying to find a reason to keep living. I thought it would be the cafe, not a grumpy cowboy who became my new landlord and my reason. Austin West When you are born into a dynasty like West Ranch, your choices become minimal. I wanted to run the ranch with my brothers. I wanted to be a cowboy and live with the land. I thought I had it all—the girl, the house, and the ring. It would all fall into place. Then she left for the city and never looked back. I may never be enough for anyone, but how I felt didn't matter. I had a ranch to run and a legacy to continue. Change in Paxton was uncommon and I avoided it at all costs. But when a red-headed wild woman rolled into this town, she brought change to my front door and a reason to put my barbed wire heart on the line one more time. Little did I know that my Wild Thing was not the only change coming. She was the one to anchor me for the storm rolling into West Ranch, and none of us had any choice but to brace for impact.

This is book #2 in the Wild Series.  I loved this book. What an emotional journey that Kara and Austin took together. Love how they met!!  This is my favorite book in this series. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Reading Now: Mariëtte Whitcomb & Jessica Myel

  What are you reading now?

I am reading 2 books right now.  Normally I do not do this.

I started reading Wild Fire by Jessica Myel prior to getting the ARC for Death Isn't Enough.  Once I got it, I went to reading Death Isn't Enough because it's due date is before Wild Fire. but when I am waiting to pick up my son or husband from work and I am sitting in a dark car alone in a parking lot, I can not get myself to read Death Isn't Enough by Mariëtte Whitcomb (Sorry Mariëtte!) .

I love the Wild Series by Jessica Myel.  There are 4 books in this series.  If you love small town romance with cowboys, then check this series out on Kindle Unlimited.  I read the first 3 on KU.

I have been getting into more books like Death Isn't Enough.  It intrigues me to figure out all of the questions: why, who, when, where, and how.  I can not wait to read more in this book to find out all of those questions.  I have read other books by Mariëtte Whitcomb and I loved her books.

So, what are you reading today? Please share.  Below the gray line are the book descriptions for each book with links.

Happy Reading!
Melissa

The worst part is … that Emily died for nothing.
