Review: Mortal Bite

For this review, I chose Mortal Bite, which is the second book in the Golden Vampires of Tuscany series.   The first book is Honeymoon Bite.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Golden Vampire Paolo Monteleone begins raising a son he did not know he fathered, after the murder of the boy's mother. He meets a beautiful human college professor, Carabella Sampson, at a Halloween costume ball. She is an expert on vampire lore, but doesn’t believe in their existence. Paolo dresses up as himself: a vampire.

A dark coven leader has targeted her for elimination, before she can reveal secrets of the Golden Vampire lineage she has obtained from an ancient book. Can there be a happily ever after if either his lover or his young son has to pay the ultimate sacrifice to protect the Golden Vampire race?

From page 1, this book grabbed me into the world of Vampires and the Monteleone brothers once again.  This time it is about Paolo.  I love that in the beginning of the book we are reminded what happened in the first book with his brother and Anne.  I really hope there is a third book.  This book definitely is steamy like the first book!

I love Paolo and Cara together.  They are night and day when they met at the Halloween party.  They are so sweet together.

Review: Honeymoon Bite

For this review, I chose Honeymoon Bite, which is the first book in the Golden Vampires of Tuscany series.  The second book is Mortal Bite.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Anne caught her husband cheating with the maid of Honor before their wedding cake was cut. She decided to take her planned and paid for honeymoon in Tuscany, alone. On the evening of what was to be her wedding night, she gets bitten by a female vampire.

Marcus Monteleone has waited three hundred years to find his fated female, only to discover her dying in his arms. He saves Anne's life by turning her, and then works to gain her trust, to cope with being a newly-formed golden vampire.

But when Anne finds out Marcus has not been completely truthful about his past, she vows to live as a human, and shuns the vampire world. Alone and unprotected, she falls prey to the very villainess who took her human soul, and who now takes the only man she’s ever loved.

Which lover will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the other before they both are lost?

I do not normally read books about Vampires, but this description was what changed my mind.  I had to read this book.  I am so glad I did.  I loved it.  So many emotions during this book.  Marcus is a 300 year old Vampire waiting to find his fated female, but when he did find her, she was dying in his arms.  Marcus saved her and now she has to learn to trust him.  Will Anne trust him?  Are they fated for one another?

If you are like me and not into Vampire books, I think you should give it a chance.  Never know if you will like a book until you read it!!

Review: A Spirited Love

For this review, I chose A Spirited Love: A Five Senses Short by Gemma Brocato.

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Hearts entwined, their love will conquer history.

Jem Kerrigan appears to have it all. Her husband, Jack, loves her to distraction. She owns a thriving cafĂ© in Granite Pointe, and she’s considering expanding her business. The only thing not falling nicely into place, the thing she wants most, is a baby bump.

Hoping to distract Jem from their inability to conceive, Jack buys Sea View House and encourages her to pursue her dream of opening a banquet space. Jem is skeptical when she sees the dilapidated wreck atop a bluff. Deserted for a decade, rumors are rampant about ghosts and ill-fated love stories. While there is something haunting about the hundred-year-old mansion, the woven hearts themeenchants Jem.

After discovering the tragic story of the original owners, Jem begins to understand the importance of the carvings of entwined hearts scattered throughout the house. The motif quickly becomes a symbol of Jem’s love for Jack. The promise of their future together is spirited, even if Jem’s arms remain empty.

It is great to go back Granite Point and seeing some of the characters from the previous books in the series.  If you want to read other books in this series, I recommend Cooking Up Love (#1), Hearts in Harmony (#2), Exposed to Passion (#3).  There is another short called A Winter Wedding, which I would love to read.

Jem and Jack are the characters from Book #1 (Cooking Up Love).  They are trying to have a baby and are having issues.  Jack buys this old house called Sea View with his brother.  The history behind this house had me glued to find out more.  The original owners were a Sea Captain and his wife.  I wanted to see this house in person by the way it was described.  I love old houses.  They are built to last.

This book warmed my heart.  I was hooked from page 1.
