Release Blitz: Got Your Six by Giulia Lagomarsino

Title: Got Your Six
Series: Owens Protective Services Book 6
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Alpha/Protector Romance
Release Date: January 30, 2023

Action, Adventure, and a good woman—that’s all I crave.
A chance to prove my love for a woman by risking my life for her.
Everyone else gets to do it, so why not me?
Except, I never imagined she would vanish without a trace.
I thought she had been taken by a gang or a serial killer.
It turns out, she’s what they call a runner.
Yeah, you heard me right. She runs when people get too close to her.
And not because she has emotional baggage or something.
She doesn’t like people, which I don’t get.
I’m great people!
That night playing Battleship will go down in the books as one of the best nights of my life.
But apparently, I scared her off when I said I was coming back for her.
And then she landed herself in a Russian prison.
And of course, now she needs me to come to the rescue.
Yeah, I’ll do it. She’s my girl. Why wouldn’t I?
I just hoped she’d never see the one weapon I always deploy.
Tactical Vomit.

“Hey,” I nodded as I approached. “I was wondering if I could get you a hotel for the night.”

He looked past me to Quinn. “Why?”

“Well… I’m sort of on a date, and it’s an important one. Only one chance to seal the deal, if you know what I mean.”

“I’m a guy. Of course I know what you mean.”

I held out my hands. “So…how about it? I can get you a really nice suite at the Holiday Inn.”

He huffed out a laugh. “No thanks. I’ll stay in my room.”

He tried to walk past me, but I stepped in his way. “Yeah, that’s not going to work for me. See, I’m trying to build a fire with her.”

“A what?” he asked, looking at me funny.

“A fire. See, I’ve got the safe spot. If you leave, the area is clear of debris. The ground is moist, but not wet enough to make it difficult to start the fire.”

“What?”

“And I have the tinder bed all ready. I’m getting ready to add the kindling, but if you show up, I’ll never get to pull out the flint and create that spark.”

“Shouldn’t you already have a spark?”

I rolled my eyes. This guy just wasn’t getting it. “Man, this isn’t a race. I’m not looking to throw some lighter fluid on it and toss in a match. I want to nurture the flame and watch it grow. I want a fucking forest fire.”

“You know, that’s really not safe. Forest fires kill people and have astronomical geological effects.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, pressing my fist to my mouth so I didn’t explode. “It’s a metaphor. I’m not actually building a fire!”

“Oh, sorry. I got lost in the whole build-up of it.”

“So, you get what I’m saying?”

“I think so. Although, I’m not sure you needed the whole fire thing. It was a little weird, to be honest.”

“You’re a little weird. You live with this insanely hot woman and you haven’t made a move.”

“I thought it would ruin the working relationship.”

“Yeah, that’s a tough move. Not many can do it,” I agreed. “There’s a lot of planning that goes into something like that.”

“Exactly. Plus, she’s really not the type to go back for seconds.”

“Which is why you need to build a fire, my friend.”

He grinned at me and held out his hand. “Alright, I’ll stay somewhere else for the night. Good luck with the tinder.”

He turned to leave, but I grabbed him by the sleeve. “Hey, do you have any games at the apartment?”

He jerked his arm out of my grasp and shot me a disgusted look. “You want to borrow sex toys?”

“No, you idiot. Games. Battleship, Twister…”

“Oh…for sex?”

“No, just to play!” I nearly shouted. “We’re building a fire here, remember?”

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
