Release Day Blitz: In Bed With The Bodyguard- Part 2

Here is the Excerpt from In Bed With the Bodyguard by Lynne Silver.

Ari rolled onto her side for the millionth time that night. She wondered if Lance was having any more luck sleeping on the couch. She didn’t think so if the noises emanating from his side of the room were any indication.
Oh God, his thigh. She should have thought more about his injury. How in the world would a six foot two man sleep on her small sofa, especially with a bum leg, He probably needed to stretch it out.
This was ridiculous; she was not getting any sleep tonight. If Lance weren’t here, she’d give up, flip on the lights and head to the potter’s wheel. A one second brain flash of her as Demi Moore and Lance as Patrick Swayze entered into her mind but she shook it off as the one AM crazies.
“Lance,” she whispered. “Lance.”
“Hmmm?” A male grumble rose from the couch.
“Are you awake?”
“Sorta.”
“Switch places with me.”
“What? Why?” He sat up.
“I can’t sleep knowing I put an injured man on the couch. An injured tall man.” She struggled to see his face in the dark, but could only make out shadows of his form.
“I’m fine. Go back to sleep.”
“No.” She hopped off the bed taking her pillow with her.
“Arianna, I won’t be able to sleep knowing I kicked a beautiful woman out of bed in her own apartment.”
He’d called her beautiful. She shouldn’t let his words shouldn’t warm her insides, but still, his compliment brought a smile to her lips. “Oh, I know. We can share the bed.” She turned back and crawled under the covers, her stomach jumping at the thought of Lance in her bed. Not that anything was going to happen. Well, nothing much. She wouldn’t be completely opposed to a little snuggle or if their feet brushed against each other.
“Hell no.” His refusal came way too quickly for her liking.
“Why not? Will your girlfriend be jealous? It’ll be purely platonic. Bring some of those blankets over here and roll them down the center of the bed. Problem solved.”
“I don’t have a girlfriend, but I...”
“Tempted? I promise to keep my hands off you,” she said, smiling that he didn’t have a girlfriend and knowing she’d have to sleep on her hands and have at least ten blankets dividing them to keep from rolling into his welcoming masculine heat. She’d already revised her opinion that he was a jerk. Lance was proving to be way more superhero than jerk. His willingness to stay and protect her went a long way toward softening her resistance to him.
“Will it shut you up?” He stood off the couch. Each of his footsteps coming closer mimicked the pounding of her heartbeat.
“Yep.” She scooted close to the edge of the bed and lay back down. When his weight sank one side of the mattress, she rolled then scooted back to the side. His warmth seeped through offering her a comfort she hadn’t felt in ten months since her nightmare began. It would be so easy to inch closer, and let her hands wander over his body, but she reminded herself he’d bolt if she got bold. He’d made it clear he was fighting the attraction between them. Silly man. Why not take what she was offering? Then she froze and wondered what exactly she was offering. She was off relationships and Lance wasn’t a one-night stand kind of guy. Looked like she’d be sharing a bed with a man and not having sex; a first.
It seemed she’d just shut her eyes when the sun blasted through her windows waking her up. She sat up with a jolt and heard a noise coming from the bathroom. Sounded like someone was in her…shower? What kind of criminal broke in to shower in someone’s home? Then it all came flooding back. Her dad, the gallery vandal, the sexy man who’d spent the night in her bed. She nearly laughed. Never had a man ever slept over and nothing happened, not even a good-night kiss. What a waste. Lance was hot, and he was in her shower. Naked. She should probably go see if he needed shampoo or his back scrubbed. It was the charitable thing to do.
Before she could act on her impulse, the shower stopped and silence fell as Lance stepped out of the bathroom, white towel wrapped low on his hips. His tousled hair fell in all directions, dripping water down his muscular chest only lightly dusted with light brown hair. He had a full six pack of abs that spoke to his dedication to staying in shape for his job, and he had those total sexy hip lines going on.
Ari swallowed hard as he offered her a small uneven smile.
“Morning. I was hoping to be dressed by the time you woke up. I’ll grab my clothes and head back in there to change.”
“Don’t bother on my account.” Her lust amped up at his appearance, and made her voice take on a throaty, breathy quality.

Review: Gambling on the Bodyguard

For this review, I chose Gambling on the Bodyguard by Sarah Ballance.  This is Book #8 in the What Happens in Vegas.  Each book is written from different authors.  I have not read any of the descriptions for the other books in this series yet, but I will.  Then, if I want to read them, they will go on my TBR list on Goodreads.  Here are the other books in this series:
#1- Tempting her Best Friend by Gina L. Maxwell
#2- The Makeover Mistake by Kathy Lyons
#3- A Change of Plans by Robyn Thomas
#4- Masquerading with the CEO by Dawn Chartier
#5- Just One Reason by Brooklyn Skye
#6- Tamed by the Outlaw by Michelle Sharp
#7- Tempted by Mr. Write by Sara Hantz
#9- Seducing Seven by M.K. Meredith

I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
He'll guard her body all night long...

Ski instructor Ellie Montgomery hits Vegas during a romance convention to meet the man of her dreams...only, the man of her dreams isn't the cover model she's there to see. He's the hot-as-sin bodyguard who catches her sneaking in the back door of a meet-and-greet, and he seems more than ready to do what it takes to prove he's twice the man her pretty boy crush could ever be.

Jax Mathis couldn't resist snagging a date with Ellie, but he didn't count on the attraction being more than physical. They connect on a level he didn't think possible--and he can't run fast enough. She makes him want things he thought he'd never have, and maybe, just maybe, they're within reach. But to have it, he'll have to face the one mountain he swore he'd never climb...and with no guarantee she'll be waiting on the other side.

If you want to read a good relaxing romantic book, then this is the book!  Ellie is a good girl, who does everything by the book.  She goes to Las Vegas to meet a book model since she won a ticket.  It turns out that "the man of her dreams" isn't who she thought he would be. Ellie has eyes on the book model's bodyguard, Jax, but will he let her into his world?  Jax wants to get to know Ellie more before going to bed with her.  He wants her more than he should, but there is something about Ellie he can not get out of his head.

This was very well written with characters that were real to me.  I could not stop reading.  I was hooked from page 1.

Day 12: Cole Lawson of Chaps and Chance

Welcome to Day 12 of my 31 Days Series!!  Today's book boyfriend is Cole Lawson of Chaps and Chance by Jessie Evans.

Layla and Cole are loveable characters, who had a HOT Chemistry together.  Cowboys!  The theme is second chances and everyone deserves a second chance.  I felt so bad for Layla, but she was a strong female character, who knew what she wanted- Out of her abusive marriage.  Cole wanted Layla since high school, but he chickened out.  It reminded me that if you want something so badly, then don't wait.  It could be too late.   This book had it all- Romance, Suspense, and a little mystery!

How is Cole a book boyfriend?
Cole
-A Cowboy
-HOT
-Protects Layla from her soon to be ex-husband
-Wants to be with Layla, but sits on the side line until she is ready for him.
-Patience
-Loving
-Caring
-Romantic

Welcome to Day 11 of my 31 Days series!!  Today's book boyfriend is Santiago Cruz of The Saint's Devilish Deal by Kristina Knight.

I love reading books by Ms. Knight.  Her characters leap off of the pages.  Makes me want to go where the setting is.  This time we are in Mexico near the beach.

Esmerelda is going home to help with her Aunt's villa.  She is not happy that she has to share ownership with Santiago Cruz.  They spent their childhood together.  His father wants to buy the villa and Esme is afraid she will lose the only home she has ever know.  Her parents were killed in a car crash when she was young and her Aunt Constance raised her.  The lawyer tells both Cruz and Esme that they have to share the villa together until the end of the 6 months period where one of them will have it themselves.

Review: The Saint's Devish Deal

For this review, I chose The Saint's Devish Deal by Kristina Knight.  I have read other ebooks from this author and she has been a favorite of my.

I did not received a copy of the ebook, but checked it out at the local library as an ebook.

Here is a brief description from Goodreads:
Esmerelda Quinn has been looking for a place to belong since her parents were killed in a car crash when she was young. The closest thing to home has always been Aunt Constance's villa in Puerto Vallarta, so after a string of hotellier jobs, she's coming home to run the villa.

Santiago Cruz has called the villa home for as long as he can remember. In between surfing events, Constance has always had a room for him. Color him surprised when Constance leaves him with a joint interest in the villa - along with her niece Esmerelda.

Esme isn't thrilled to share ownership of the villa with the the youngest Cruz brother - especially as the Cruz family has been after the villa for years. But Santiago has grown up while she's been away and soon she finds herself falling for the rich boy down the hall - all over again.

"Sensuality Level" Sensual

Esmerelda is going home to help with her Aunt's villa.  She is not happy that she has to share ownership with Santiago Cruz.  They spent their childhood together.  His father wants to buy the villa and Esme is afraid she will lose the only home she has ever know.  Her parents were killed in a car crash when she was young and her Aunt Constance raised her.  The lawyer tells both Cruz and Esme that they have to share the villa together until the end of the 6 months period where one of them will have it themselves.

I really enjoyed this book.  It was very well written.  The characters came off of the page.  Making me want to go to the beach.  I miss the beach a lot.  We don't live near the ocean.  Could you imagine living somewhere so beautiful near the ocean?

Esme has gone through a lot in her life.  She deserves happiness.  Will working with Cruz bring out those feelings from years before?
